Sabina Dunkling is the head trainer at K9 Connections. She is a qualified instructor with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers; a Force Free Trick instructor; completed the Interactive play instructor with Craig Ogilvie; has studied with the School of Canine Science; and is a member of the Pet Professional Guild and the Dog training Charter and the World Scent Dog Association. Sabina is always undertaking CPD, developing her skills and working with other dog trainers across the world to bring you the best training options and results.
Her training methods are reward based, utilising the latest science and techniques whilst being wholly practical and most importantly effective. These are tried and tested techniques coupled with years of experience. This is training that is kind and ethical,she trains without force or fear and gets results.
She has been around dogs since her first Spaniel puppy at the age of five. Since then she has maintained a family of rescue dogs from Staffies to Sighthounds, with a german shepherds and bassets in the mix too!. Sabina has been working with dogs professionally for nearly 20 years, and a full time dog trainer for 10 years.
Sabina has fostered, rehabilitated and rehomed over 50 rescue dogs and supported many more rescue dogs into their new homes, lots with complex needs. She gets referrals from vets within the local area, from the police and also from rescue organisations locally and nationally. She regularly competes in Canicross with her own dogs and several of her dogs hold trick training titles as well. Sabina is now a Canicross coach and can deliver training sessions on this sport too.
Sabina specialises in three main areas, the first helping puppies and their new owners get their training and relationship right from the outset. Checkout our puppy classes and 121 sessions.
Secondly supporting rescue dogs into their new homes and all that encompasses, and providing training advice on issues for new dogs in the home such as separation anxiety, recall, lead walking and settling into the new home environment.
